Chino Federal Credit Union will select three credit union families to participate in the 2010 Savings Challenge. Participating families will learn how to reduce debt, build credit and increase savings as they work toward a statewide grand prize of $10,000. One finalist from Chino Federal Credit Union will compete against five other finalists from five other New Mexico credit unions to win this grand prize.

Participants will meet monthly with local financial coaches from the credit union who will help them make a strategy, adjust their plans along the way and monitor their progress. An outside CPA firm will tally the final numbers, looking for reduction in debt and an increase in savings and credit scores, to find the statewide winner of the $10,000 grand prize.  The winning family at each credit union will receive a cash prize too.  

There is no charge to participate. However, you must be willing to share your story and what you learn with the community and the state.   So come to Chino Federal Credit Union today to get started in the 2010 Savings Challenge.

Interested members will be able to download an application for the Savings Challenge from this web page when it is completed. Completing our free 20 hour financial literacy class is a requirement to be considered for the Savings Challenge.  The Savings Challenge will run from May 2010 through April 2011.
